Scandi style home in Italy

I just found these photos of this amazing apartment via Casa Facile. You could imagine that the location could be in Scandinavia but instead, it is right here in Italy. I love the use of white & black and natural materials that reminds a lot of style of many Scandinavian homes! To see more photos just go here.

Kalklitir

What gorgeus paints and shades from Icelandic Kalklitir. I fell in love in their lime paints as soon as I saw these pictures and I'm thinking seriosly painting one of our bedroom walls with this paint, just need to decide the shade!

Kalklitir is founded by Audur Skuladottir with her husband Hjortur. Audur has studied decorative painting in Denmark and learnt how to produce various methods of paints, such as lime paint and egg tempera. She runs now their the family business Kalklitir that produces her own line of lime paint in beautiful shades of gray, brown and neutral. Lime paint is a mineral based environmental-friendly paint, free of artificial resins, solvents and biocides and it is so easy to use. Just mix it with water and you are set to go.

I'll be receiving soon some color samples from Kalklitir and will share them here, these paints will be available later also in the shop. If you want any more information, just ask!

You can use it as a side table in the kitchen, in the living room or also in the bedroom. The simple shade and neutral colours gives an endless oppurtunities to use Tablo.

White Kitchen - Before and After

This kitchen was before empty and a bit sad. All the furniture is white and minimalist and the kitchen is missing some colour and contrast.

And this is how the kitchen looks after with new styles and colour. The owners did not change much but an important pendant light, colourfull ceramics and few new pieces made the kitchen look much more inviting. Maybe you will get some ideas from this if you are planning to change the look of your kitchen!

Jielde

Today I wanted to feature the Jield lamps I'm coming obsessed with! They are one of the coolest lamps in inductrial-chick style and I really like them.

If you want to know a bit of the history of these lamps, they were designed in the 1950's by Jean-Louis Domecq. He was a machinist who was frustrated by the lack of heavy-duty task lamps for his work and wanted something that could articulate into a range of positions without interfering with electrical wiring and that could also withstand the conditions of an industrial workshop.

In 1950, Domecq created a mechanism for the articulating joints of his lamps that actually eliminated wires. He spent a couple years drawing up plans to industrialize production, and then launched his company, Jieldé, which is just his initials, JLD, pronounced in French (from) .

If you are looking something similiar but a bit more affordable version, check out these House Doctor lamps here !
